This piece is a Plein Aire tree of my neighbor's that towers over my backyard. I love that tree in early spring! This last year I went out and painted it by carving into thick paint for textures. I also love adding spontaneous stencil textures like the gears throughout this artwork. The figure is a young boy on the way back from sledding and represents my neighbor's son who loves to play outdoors.
